The New Oxford Area Historical Society hosts a WWII re-enactment around the town's center square. New Oxford will be transformed into a small French village occupied by the Germans during WWII. Watch as a battle ensues when the Allied convoy arrives to liberate the town and capture the Germans. The event concludes with a ceremony honoring WWII veterans from the local and surrounding area. All are encouraged to dress in 1940?s era costumes. All visitors should also plan to stop by the German encampment at the train station and the Allied encampment at Borough Hall. This will include the period vehicles used in the battle. The re-enactors will be available to answer questions about the training, uniforms, equipment, and weaponry of the average soldier of that era.
