The Hanover Area Historical Society: The Great War
The Hanover Area Historical Society
The Great War
This year marks the 100th Anniversary of World War I. It was a war that involved all of Europe, Eastern Europe, and colonies of the countries at war. It was the first war to introduce air and chemical warfare, gas masks, tanks, flamethrowers, and grenades. Casualties numbered in the millions. In 1917, the United States entered the War and President Woodrow Wilson insisted the war must end. He worked out an Armistice with our Allies.
The Hanover Area Historical Society is pleased to present a free Martin-Leese Lecture featuring actor Neill Hartley paying tribute to this turbulent period in world history. Please join us on Monday evening, November 5th at 7:00pm in the Nicarry Auditorium at Cross Keys Village. visit us at www.hahs.us
